How long have you been in business?
Cornerstone has been running for 13 years here in Phoenix.
What is your primary product or service?
I provide consulting on a wide variety of human performance issues from team building and staffing to succession planing and problem solving. I also train companies and consultants on how to use the suite of reports that I have developed to provide many of the same services that I do.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I became interested in human performance as a collegiate athlete at the University of Washington. I did my first masters on role identity and socialization as I felt more could be done to create a better match up of athletes to coaches and programs. I also felt more could be done to improve not just the graduation rate, but success rate of athletes once in a program. I took the knowledge gained from this and applied to the business world as finding better matches and improving the on boarding process for new employees is key to their potential success and performance. I also completed the course work for a second masters in Counseling and studied the many psychometric measures for performance. After moving to Arizona I finally decided to combine my knowledge of people and performance and started my own business. My clients are my greatest advocates and have not done a great deal of advertising as they have provided me many referrals over the years and keep coming back when they heed additional help.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
I provide unique insights into human performance that capture people at their core and provide them with a new language of understanding that not only gives them a richer understanding of themselves, but better perspective on how to relate and adapt to meet the demands of different contexts and other people. I provide people with "Personal Intelligence" as described by John Mayer in his book.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
I am not expanding my personal business as I do not have to. I can work with any business here in the US or the world with a laptop and a phone. I do travel and give face-to-face training and workshops when needed. I am expanding the use of my assessments however, by providing other consultants and coaching from around the US and the world with the training needed to be able to reach others like I have been doing for many years. Many of the people I have trained just this past summer are now able to land better consulting projects in companies and are making a profound difference in the lives of those they work with.

What type of payments do you accept?
I bill out at the end of the month and accept checks and can set up direct deposits. I may be moving soon to a Paypal or credit card system.
Which areas do you service?
I service any company, or program that works with people had has human performance issues. I still love working with collegiate athletic teams as well.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
I own my own company outright and am charge of the daily operations.
What are your hours of operation?
I can be reached by email 24/7, I generally am working in the office from 8 to 5 except for the days and times I teach at Arizona State University.
What is the best compliment anyone can give you?
That by working with them they discovered new things about themselves that have helped them reach breakthrough performance, have increased the quality of their hires, or improved the performance of their team.
