How long have you been in business?
El Dorado Private School has been in business for 44 years in the Phoenix/ Scottsdale area.
What is your primary product or service?
We specialize in individualizing a student's education in a highly technology school. The school accepts ages from 2 1/2 through 8th grade. Each classroom has their own iPads and the middle school students have iPads and Air Macs.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
My mother owned a preschool/kindergarten in Kansas. We began EDPS in 1970 together and when she passed away, I took over the directorship with my own children. I have a BA in Elementary Ed. and hold two Masters..one in Elementary Ed. and one in Special Ed.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We emphasis technology and use it in every subject beginning with the three year olds.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We have one large campus that sits on a 4 acre protery. We have talked about expanding to include a high school further north in Scottsdale.

Take Scottsdale Road north of the 101. Turn right onto Thompson Peak. Turn left onto 76th Street and EDPS is located 1/4 mile north on 76th street on the left.
What type of payments do you accept?
We accept all credit cards, cash, and checks. We, also have a 3% discount if the tuition is paid in full by June 1 and a sibling discount of 5%. The other payment plan is an 11 month plan.
Which areas do you service?
We service Fountain Hills, Carefree/Cave Creek, Scottsdale, and East Phoenix.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
Mrs. McDermott owns El Dorado Private School with a Board of Directors in place.
What are your hours of operation?
Our hours of operation are 7:30am - 5:30pm.
What is the best compliment anyone can give you?
The best compliment that a parent can give us is that their child is academically at least one grade level above their grade level, were able to get into the high school of their choice, and wouldn't consider sending their child anywhere else for a superb education.
