Interview Q&A
How long have you been in business?
Tiedemann Globe, Inc. has been in business since 1998.
What is your primary product or service?
Tiedemann Globe will deliver virtually any product for its customers, including vintage apparel (trendy, popular new and used clothing or garments 20 years or older), No. 1 (its highest quality, gently used clothing), export grade small bales (100 pounds), baled or boxed wiping rags, as well as surplus mixed rags.
Tiedemann Globe also sells credential clothing (apparel that has been donated directly from individuals, household pick ups or drop off sites). Every day, the business takes in about 120,000 pounds of used clothing and other items for grading and recycling to foreign resale shops.
We also sell wiping rags and other industrial supplies through Tiedemann Industrial Supplies (TIS), vintage clothing and other goods through Tiedemann's Family Thrift & Vintage in Tempe and THERAGHOUSE, our eBay store. In 2009, through the non-profit Clean Energy Foundation, we became involved in renewable energy (solar, biogas, water purification). We are diversified in several areas.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
My first real job was in the used clothing/textile industry. In January 1993, a year after graduating from Creighton, a friend told me about a unique opportunity.I had considered a career in restaurant management, but wanted ownership.
My goal was to be an entrepreneur. I always wanted to run my own business.

Tiedemann Globe has also proven to be a "green" company. It wants to keep pace with social concern about climate change and other sustainability issues.
